Transient association between proteins elicits alteration of dynamics at sites far away from interfaces

چکیده
Summary Proteins are known to undergo structural changes upon binding partner proteins. However, the prevalence, extent, location, and function of change in protein dynamics due transient protein-protein interactions is not well documented. Here, we have analyzed a dataset 58 complexes three-dimensional structure structures their corresponding unbound forms evaluate induced by binding. Fifty-five percent cases showed significant away from interfaces. This always accompanied an observed change. Binding found alter inter-residue communication within tertiary about 90% cases. Also, residue motions accessible proteins form were maintained bound form. Further analyses revealed functional roles for distant site where was observed. Overall, results presented here strongly suggest that alteration commonly occurs.

Behaviour of proteins at interfaces.
The adsorption and conformational changes of three plasma proteins, (bovine) serum albumin, .y-globulin and fibrinogen, on several (bio)polymer surfaces are reported. A theory is developed which invokes reversible adsorption of the proteins in the initial stages and a time dependent conformational change of adsorbed protein leading to essentially irreversible long-term adsorption. In each case ...
متن کاملOptimal IR: How Far Away?
There exists a gap between what a human user wants in mind and what (s)he could get from the information retrieval (IR) systems by his/her queries. We say an IR system is perfect if it could always provide the users with what they want in their minds if available in corpus, and optimal if it could present to the users what it finds in an optimal way. In this paper, we empirically study how far ...
متن کاملChipping Away at P vs NP: How Far Are We from Proving Circuit Size Lower Bounds?
Many people are pessimistic about seeing a resolution to the P vs NP question any time soon. This pessimism extends also to questions about other important complexity classes, including two classes that will be the focus of this talk: TC 0 and NC 1. TC 0 captures the complexity of several important computational problems, such as multiplication, division, and sorting; it consists of all problem...
متن کاملNonlinear alteration of transient vergence dynamics after sustained convergence.
BACKGROUND Adaptation models of the horizontal disparity vergence system assume a nonadaptable transient component. They also predict identical postadaptation dynamics during convergence and divergence movements. METHOD To test the adaptation property of the transient component, a set of experiments were performed in which closed-loop vergence dynamics measured before and after sustained conv...
